Our suggestions
We have put together some options, so that you can spend your time in a climate of wellbeing and harmony with nature:

Cultural trip
Morning: Savour the breakfast we have prepared for you, put on some comfortable clothes and shoes and get ready for a cultural trip to Castelo de Vide (Jewish quarter, Castle, Church/Viewing Point of Nossa Senhora da Penha...), where you can also enjoy the vast landscape.
Afternoon: Have lunch in Portagem, next to the river Sever, visit the Ruins of the Roman City of Ammaia and finish off with a visit to Marvão (Castle, fortifications, Churches).
Evening: If you come to stay in the second weekend of November, you could choose to extend your visit to Marvão, have a light meal and have fun at the Festa do Castanheiro-Feira da Castanha chestnut fair, a unique opportunity to appreciate the good things the region of Alentejo has to offer. |

Regional trip
Morning: Visit the Estremoz Fair (every Saturday), followed by lunch in one of the city’s restaurants
Afternoon: Continue on to Monforte, where you can see fine examples of the rafeiro alentejano dog breed. These make excellent guard dogs, and are docile, safe and confident. You will be able to get to know the breed or even buy a dog at the breeding centre set up by Monforte City Council, in partnership with the Association of Breeders of Rafeiro Alentejano Dogs. If you wish, you will also be able to go on a guided tour of Monforte (Museum and Churches).
Evening: Makes yourself at home and have a barbecue in the garden, using our smoke house or Alentejo-style chimney (if you come to stay at the start of September, you will also find entertainment at the local festivals which take place at this time every year, and which end with the usual releasing of the cows at daybreak)

The wine route
Morning: start the day with a bicycle ride, a dip in our pool, enjoying a good book or music in our garden, or jogging in the town.
Afternoon: have lunch and then take a trip to one of the wine-cellars chosen by us, where you can see the vineyards which lend their identity to the wine from the region. At the wine-cellar itself, you will be able to see the conditions in which the wine is matured and enjoy its bouquet during the tasting session we have organised for you.

Horse ride
Morning/Afternoon: Take the unique opportunity we offer you: riding lessons, horse rides or rides throughout the fields. Take this opportunity, enjoy the beauty of the horse and, if you dominate already, take a little walk through the area around the ring. If not, get to know your gifts of knight and learn the art of riding.
Evening: Extend your walk and don’t miss the opportunity to taste the regional food in one of the Restaurants of Alentejo region. |
